The Association is a lively, thriving organisation, which has been going since 1986.
The purpose of the Association is:To act as a focal point for professional social work practice in specialist palliative care in order to develop the understanding of the social and emotional problems of patients, their relatives and carers.
To promote the voice of social work within multi-disciplinary palliative care.
To act as a collective voice to influence change in health and social care practice/policy in respect of terminally ill people, their families and their carers.
We have over 300 members across the UK and encourage all new social workers in palliative care to join us.
Please look through the pages on out website to learn more about the regional groups, who the regional representatives and how often the groups meet. You will also find information on our annual conference, past and current newsletters.
Over time we will be expanding the website to offer information on education and training, welfare rights and other areas of interest. We will also be opening a members only section. If there is something you would like to see on the webiste please email me, we will consider all suggestions.
